I’ve known Kendall for what seems like forever – we grew up in Northern Virginia and met at our local summer swim team when we were very little. We both swam through elementary, middle, and high school, but went our separate ways when I attended college in North Carolina while she attended Liberty University in Virginia. (Side note: we both swam in college, and Kendall kicked major butt during her time as a collegiate athlete). We kept in touch via social media, and when Kendall was engaged to her now-husband Johnny, she reached out to me about filming her wedding day. (And of course I said yes!)
Johnny also attended Liberty University, where they met & fell in love. These two are surrounded by an incredible support system – their family & friends adore them, as evident in all the speeches given, and you can tell that the feeling is more than mutual. The majority of their daytime wedding was spent laughing with and hugging friends & family, all of whom you could tell were so happy for the newlyweds.
In the traditional Catholic ceremony, the maid of honor (and big sister to the bride!) sang two beautiful songs, and the priest, Father Chow, had plenty of fun stories to tell about Johnny’s family, as he’s known them for years (and had just recently married Johnny’s sister!). Also, there were food trucks at the reception, which was the best idea ever (still dreaming about that mac & cheese). Overall, this day was full of love & laughter. And as the father of the bride said, “it is very evident that you bring out the best in each other, and this is just the beginning of a journey.” Congratulations Kendall & Johnny! I’m so happy for you both!
